4711 Original Eau de Cologne - AUSTRALIA
A legendary fragrance, 4711 Original Eau de Cologne (Mülhens, 1792) is an iconic blend of citrus and herbs that make up a refreshing and aromatic tonic, or eaux. Nothing comes close to its abundant freshness, which is designed to be sprayed, or splashed, with joyous abandon all over the body. It is one of the oldest house fragrances still using the same secret formula for over two centuries , which consists of 28.2% bergamot, 23.5% orange, 11.2% petitgrain (orange flower), 10.2% lemon, and 7% neroli oil, flecked with lavender and rosemary, amongst other ingredients. It is generous, sparkling, and bright. Crafted in Germany by Wilhelm Mülhens, named after Mülhens's house in the Glockengasse alley, Cologne - 4711. It should be noted that this fragrance is the reason why we use the term ‘eau de cologne’ today. Its iconic bottle was originally designed in 1820 by Peter Heinrich Molanus.
An absolute classic, 4711 Original Eau de Cologne is textbook and an essential referent in the citrus category. It is refreshing and effervescent, an ephemeral salve that coats the body. The cool sensation of its fluid is as refreshing and uplifting as the scent itself. Highly literal but also deeply nostalgic, you are immediately met with its sharp and invigorating sensation: a flowering orange tree, the energy of sunlight concentrated in these citric orbs, and skies as blue as its label. Imperative.
