EDITOR'S NOTES

It is tempting to champion coconut as the star of Virgin Island Water, but in my mind the lime note in this fragrance is one of the greatest renditions on the market. By marrying lime with bergamot, ginger, and mandarin, it cuts the tropical richness of coconut and adds fresh facets to white rhum. However, it is the combination of scorched sugar which produces a complex and rounded bittersweetness to the work. The best in its class.
