Unspoken Musk is extraordinary, a powerful fragrance without force or vulgar shock. On display is its quiet power, an attractive accord of musk made up of floral, animal, and vegetal materials that at times feels exquisitely pure. It’s a musk that glows warmly and softly, a fragrance with unmistakable presence but also reservation and tameness. It is without distraction or excess. While Byzantine Amber is a study of another primordial material, working with an earthy smoky heat to produce an impression of amber. Addictive, an innate resinous sweetness is set against the desiccated grip of leather, freshened up slightly with the green floral touch of geranium. All in all, it is as if these precious amber crystals were golden glowing embers.

Tyger Tyger is the same calibre of warmth, through the means of flowers and fruits, or specifically, tuberose and peach. The petals of this potent white floral begin to singe as it is held up against a fire made of oud and leather. It is through a superb act of balancing that Francesca avoids a downright collision of ingredients, but a sublime oscillation between beauty and terror. The Lover’s Tale is a bombastic fragrance, an explosion of waxy sticky jasmine flower with an aroma that fills and thickens the air; full of medicinal, sticky, and phenolic characteristics. And instead of respite, this merges with leather to give this blast substantiveness and body. It is bold and memorable.

Lost in Heaven works with similar bombastic materials, this time imposing a legible and structuring form upon this. The humid heat of orange blossom rises further with a good slug of cumin, adding a degree of ferocity. This central medley of floral and spice is built further with exquisite chypre-amber materials, forming a fragrance that is both voluptuous and yet in a leather corset. Finally, Libertine Neroli highlights the citrus-floral-leafy aspects of its namesake note, supported with a similar chypre structure. The work is more minimal, although never sparse - proudly showcasing - and bolstering - the best virtues of an exquisite natural material.
