A joyous and crimson Damascus rose set in a frankincense hyperabsolute mount, waves of vanilla clashing against bitter splinters of Myrrh, nocturnal drops of black ink crashing against citrusy streaks of elemi, Opus XII is a study of both rose and incense, pushing them each to unexplored territories and pulling out an uncompromisingly novel take on an otherwise classic accord. Inspired by the mystery behind Orson Welles' Rosebud, Opus XII is an ambery and pointilliste constellation of gleaming moments coming back and forth from the dregs of memory, compelling us to believe that despite our knowledge of the present, only childhood memories are real.

In this fragrance, rose and incense are two notes intertwined, able to be considered separately and together-as-one, however you please. Dust defines this fragrance - a sweet crimson rose turns into an ephemeral, glittering, and concentrated powder, while incense becomes a precious ash that smudges everything it touches. This scented dust is thrown into the atmosphere, adding warmth as it is carried along the frigid air. Rose Incense is an elusive beauty - it is meditative and potent - and yet it is also undeniably clear. The rose note refuses to fall into cliche, and is both familiar yet new. While the incense accord, blending olibanum and myrrh is extraordinary, it soars and rises. In the drydown, a distinctly suede like aroma and texture emerges, lending its luxurious touch.
