This is my first time using Monarch, so far it's not bad at all! It doesn't have an overpowering smell, it's soft and easy to emulsify and holds my hair as expected.

I have a love hate thing for this product. It's the best thing I've used for my hair in terms of hold, matte finish and ease of use but the smell is STRONG. It's not a bad smell but it's not a pleasant smell either, it's like a cross between the scent of a salon and drywall putty. That's the only downside to this paste. I try to use as little as possible when I use it to keep from having the smell linger throughout the day. I have tried numerous other hair products throughout the years and this is the best paste on the market in my opinion. I hope they consider doing about the smell in the future though. I only recommend if you're not sensitive to strong smelling hair products.

This product works very well. Very easy to work into hair and has a strong hold with a matte finish. My only complaint is the smell. It does not have an added scent so it kind of smells like chemicals so I add another product with a good scent and they work great together.

This is my favorite product to get the style I want without having to use an exfoliating shampoo to get it out. But the new smell is way too strong, I don't want people smelling my hair from 2 rooms away

Medium high hold is a good description, but I found it needs help from a sea salt spray or something similar to really find the texture and hold, but the matte finish is certainly there. Not a huge fan of the scent but that's not a huge deal, overall very happy with it.

It works well, but the fragrance is too strong, clashes with cologne. Need to lose the fragrance. Make it fragrance free.

Im returning this because I know its not suppose to provide a strong hold but it also feels like im putting nothing in my hair & it just easily messes up. Will be purchasing the clay instead bc I love that one but It is thick so I wanted to try a lighter texture but this just isn't it for my hair. Feels nice on the hands tho, just wish it worked for me.

The new packaging looks nice and all but it's clearly less product and the snap is really annoying. I've been using this since the company started. A classic jar works for a reason. I am also worried about the seal of the container. I lost a whole jar once because the product dried completely out so hope this doesn't accelerate that process.

I bought this clay product as my daily simple hair styler. A little bit goes so far. My hair stays with good volume and hold. My hair is on the thinner side and short. This product will give you style and hold. I recommend it.
