Absolu Aventus shares plenty with the legendary Aventus, coming into its own as it is fortified with notes that exaggerate each part of its top-middle-base structure. The gorgeous charge of bergamot, cassis, and pineapple is sharpened with the soaring bitter-and-sweet sizzle of grapefruit and ginger – notes that operate in the intersection between citrus and fruit. The mossy, chypre-like heart gains a soft glow of spice with cardamom, cinnamon, and an earthy touch of vetiver, reiterating the faint birch-based smokiness that made the original legendary. Finally, its intoxicating grey amber base is padded with labdanum and cashmeran - lending Absolu Aventus a slightly denser feeling.
