Gold isn’t missing in this otherwise sacred trilogy, as these two fine aromatic ingredients turn an aureate colour in this composition. Don’t go looking for them, however, these two notes impart their effect as they course through a traditional Fougere structure that sings with the high notes of lemon and pure herbal clary sage, and the clean yet raspy heart of lavender and cedar. These namesake resinous incense notes add undeniable lift, as if everything were shifted up a slight yet significant degree - myrrh projects shine throughout the composition, off the glossy, slightly metallic surface produced by ultra-fine frankincense (olibanum). This fragrance is remarkably subtle, vintage in its feeling yet timeless, turning to a conclusion surging with faint woody notes.
