With Reliqvia, Sorcinelli returns to Senigallia, where the Church of the Cross safeguards some of Christianity’s most revered relics of the Passion. This sanctuary, a masterpiece of late Renaissance and Baroque devotion, is lined with gilded wood, carved and adorned with intricate reliefs, leading the pilgrim step by step in incense toward the resplendent high altar. There, hidden within golden ornament, lies the wooden figure of the dead Christ, a 17th-century sculpture revealed only once each year. These impressions, of hidden sanctity and ritual unveiling, are woven directly into the design of the flacon.

The fragrance opens with a surge of sacred smoke: woods enveloped in peaty incense, dense and resonant as the air of an ancient chapel. Flashes of blackcurrant, sweet orange, and lively spice dart through the haze, conjuring movement within stillness, life within solemnity. Soon, the turbulence yields to a deeper calm, as incense, tobacco, and resinous woods entwine and slowly settle into the hushed glow of pine and sandalwood. It is the lingering breath of a sacred space, eternal and unmoving.
