Geo. F. Trumper Violet Shaving Soap in Bowl, 80g

I love this violet scent which is actually quite manly but I found the soap didn't perform to expectations, the lather was always too light and airy meaning there was little protection during the shave. Any lather in the bowl dissipated incredibly quickly. Given the cost there are much better soaps out there for less money. Disappointingly this one is out of my rotation and into the bin.

Having owned most of the GFT Shaving soaps, and also the Violet Shaving Cream, I just had to get my hands on this soap!

The soap, like all GFT shaving soaps comes in a nice box (as in the picture) that tells you a brief history of GFT.

The soap comes sealed in plastic, housed within the nice wooden bowl (like all GFT soaps).

The scent is exactly the same as the GFT Violet shaving cream, although not as strong.

The soap itself like all of the GFT soaps performed wonderfully! I loaded my brush and continued bowl lathering without any issues. The lather lasted for the entire 3 pass shave and didn't disappear or dry up like some others.

Overall I loved this shaving soap! Both the performance and scent are wonderful (if you like violets). Yes its not one of the more "manly" scents, but like the rose equivalent, its awesome for a change.

I'm gradually replacing all my shave creams with soaps and decided to try some Trumpers products.
This Violet soap has left me stunned ! A beautiful, dreamy fragrance that actually relaxed and calmed me
as the shave progressed. I've never been a new-age aromatherapy kind of guy, but I now have an inkling
of how fragrances can affect a person in a positive, pleasant way. The "latherability" is very impressive, rich
and foamy with either Boar Bristle or Silvertip Badger brush. I now smell like an Edwardian Gentleman.
