A scent that conjures autumn dusk and all of its unreal colours, this is no horror story in the usual sense - but a celebration of the grandeur and tattered opulence of many remarkable gothic and haunting settings. The Bates Family House from Hitchcock’s Psycho, the Amityville House, Georgetown, the Overlook Hotel, or even Hopper’s Nighthawks - there is strange comfort in these settings, as if, in fact, occupied by friendly critters, domestic cats, forest birds, and woodland animals.

The Abandoned Mansion leans on a mossy, chypric structure to evoke a slightly faded, dusty, and sepia-toned autumn in scent. The flat and dull sweetness of quince works the cedarwood heart of the scent, complex with pimento berry (allspice, resolving into oakmoss absolute and ambreine, a warm and comforting resinous perfume base. The latter adds a long crepuscular glow, which shines a low light across the mossy floor of the scent.
