The life force of trees - in focus and concentration - a gust of wind working through a mighty forest of spruce, conifers, and age-old sap, supported with myrrh and vetiver. Oriental Velours is a deceptive creation. It is highly faceted, with traces of liquorice, rubbery jasmine, and green vanilla - as if underripe and all the better for it. Apparent simplicity always unfolds into complexity; a simple idea in fact an intricate construction ultimately realised. Not only this, but a beautiful depth too. Like running your fingers through velvet, Oriental Velours has an ecclesiastical sense - it rings like a bell and shimmers like gold - and yet thumps a distinctly resinous woodiness. There are very few perfumes like this, so tactile and tasteful, so steady and readily giving.
