Outopia invites you to a primordial time in an ‘other place’ [ou-topia]. It might imagine, for instance, a rugged and wild place, a blasted heath, untouched by humans and full of divine providence. One can quote the verses of Milton’s Paradise Lost (“Awake, arise or be for ever fall’n”) or Dante’s Divine Comedy as they passage through Outopia: “Midway upon the journey of our life I found myself within a forest dark, for the straightforward pathway had been lost.”

The smell of incense and resins stirs a primitive sense within us. It has long fascinated humans, identifying the tranquilising and holy spiritual associations of sesquiterpenes, found in incense and certain wood materials. Sweet and precious sacrifices. Outopia is a beautiful gathering of frankincense, opoponax, and myrrh. Together, they form a resinous arpeggio: leathery in the deepest part, fresh and citrus-bright at the top. It is both crystalline and opaque, faded and bright, and in Outopia, concurrently trails on a breeze that passes through a cedarwood forest, supported on a mantle made of sturdy cashmeran - with a fair skin-like effect - gently sweetened with maltol to reinforce the comforting aspects of the fragrance.
