It’s easy to fall for the fantasy of tobacco and all of its associations, evoking yesteryear and quiet elegance. Herod embraces this image to the fullest degree, appealing to toasted but unlit tobacco leaves - the smoothness of a ‘blonde’ with a full of flavour, mesmerising with its crossings of fruits, woods, animal, flowers, and spice. The tobacco in Herod finds complement in the resinous veneer of vanilla, together drawing out the floral feeling of both of these materials. The result is a dance: warm and spicy, measured and fine, both sweet and savoury. As it develops, incense, vetiver, cypriol, labdanum, and cedar adds a hint of ignition - clean smoke that fills out this image of the fine cigar.
