Targhee Forest is a botanical concentrate – a heavenly assemblage of wild mountain and forest ingredients mixed with air and aether. It is the scent of berries, foliage, pine needles, shrubs, moss, and woods, worked into a familiar chypric structure of patchouli, amber, and musk. Unlike Rogue’s earlier fragrances that turn to the forest, Targhee is without shade nor shadow, but basks its material in sunlight. It is the accumulation of a scented trail, embracing the wilderness without excessively taming it – and in this regard respects its inspiration, leaving it all untouched. It is rare earth and crisp infinite sky, mediated by an air that gathers and disseminates scent.

Targhee wears like a dry amber masculine in the same vein as Equipage (Hermes 1970) and Heritage (Guerlain 1992). It is richly aromatic and spicy, with a prominent line of wood and resin working through the fragrance. Its blending its impeccable and smooth, maximal in many respects but not excessive. Quiet luxury.
