Shear Revival Amity Texture Spray

This product works well, however the smell is unworkable - labdanum adds a middle-eastern facet that does not suit my needs. I was expecting a mild fragrance as only essential oils are included, however the frankincence / spicy facet is overpowering. I will not be trying other Shear Revival products.

Has a light texture and still has good holding. It also has a nice smell.

The product itself is truly amazing - I love it! It works wonders and delivers excellent results. However, the spray bottle is very disappointing. After just three uses, the spray mechanism got clogged and stopped working entirely. Now, nothing comes out of the bottle, which is frustrating.

Amity is the closest thing to hair care magic I can think of. Instantly provides texture, volume, and a light shine / hold with one to two sprays.

I tried the air dry method first which didn't do much for me so I tried the hair dryer next time and that was significantly different. The video at the bottom of the page shows the difference. Good texture and hold. Add American Gardens to add to hold and texture.

I bought the small bottle. So easy to use. Definitely recommend for all hair types. Strong light hold if that makes sense. Really like it.

One of my favorite texture sprays! Great volume and texture and just a bit of grit to give post products the hold I need. Not drying and feels great in the hair. I love the 3.4 oz bottle for traveling and I just use that all the time and refill with the 8 oz bottle.

Love the product when I get to use it but I am 2 for 2 on bottles that despite rigorous shaking eventually just completely stop spraying product. Threw out the first one half full when the new one arrived thinking it was just one dud but now facing the same problem only a quarter into it. Wish SR would find a different manufacturer or other solution as I unfortunately cannot order again until then.

This hair spray is amazing at adding needed hold, you will use much less product to get your hair to do what you want it to. It is a bit heavier than most sprays and does add a slight tacky feel after blow drying, however, the need for less hair product makes up for it. I won't be using it every day due to the weight and feel of my hair after use, but it does add much needed control.

Got this about a week ago and have been using it as a regular prestyler. I've used previous salt sprays that have dried out my hair and made my dandruff worse - not so with this product. I've also used other prestylers that make it difficult to run my fingers through my hair - not so with this product. My hair has a light hold and shine with good texture when I run my fingers through my hair. It has a solid sent that my girlfriend likes. 5/5

I typically blow-dry my hair after a shower and put in the Crystal Lake. However, with WFH and COVID, I haven't had the need to really put in that much product in my hair everyday. I was considering an alternative that wasn't as heavy but still holds my hair in place for daily errands. I looked into sea salt spray and knowing how natural Shear Revival tries to be, I got the Amity Spray. Before I blow-dry my hair, but after I towel dry, I would spray the product into my hair a bit. After a quick blow-dry, my hair has the form I want without it feeling 'too heavy'. I'm able to go through my day and not worry about my hair falling in fronts of my eyes - especially at the gym. After washing my hair, without shampoo, my hair doesn't feel as heavy or weighed down like it does with other hair products like pomade and etc. It also smells great which is a plus. I think this will be my go to for a long time. Whenever I am going out, I still use this but add crystal lake to have that clean, strong hold. It does really well. I would highly recommend this product.

Disappointed
I was extremely disappointed with this product, considering I've had only great experiences with Shear Revival. The spray tube is poorly made and came broken. The nozzle wouldn't spray and instead the product came out as droplets and leaked all over the spray handle and bottle.

The product itself performed terribly. I was only able to get droplets into my hair because the spray tube was broken. In my hair the product felt gritty, dry, and weighed down my hair. It made me want to wash my hair out immediately because it felt so nasty. I wouldn't recommend for someone with fine or thin hair.

This is a great prestyler and the texture and volume are better than any other sea salt spray I have used. That being said, I am quite a scent oriented person and wish that the scent could be more subtle/less strong, as personally, I do not like the scent all that much.

Cant put in words how good is this pre-styler, never used before any typical sea salt, so its my first time using this kind of pre-styler, and the results are simply outstanding, it makes my hair feel super healthy and gives an amazing texture.
If you never tried it, try it, you wont regret.

I use it as a pre-styler, and once it's been blow-dried in, my hair has really great control/structure, very natural shine, and some really nice volume. My hair just looks healthy and is set up very well for styling. Amity doesn't cake my hair up like a lot of pre-stylers do. I love the results, I love the product, and I hope they keep making it for a long time.

This is my first salt-spray product, so I'm flying a little blind on this, but my initial impression is definitely positive. My hair is thick and wavy, and I like how the spray enhances those attributes while allowing me to keep things light. I've been blow-drying along with a small amount of either matte paste or clay pomade, for a relaxed style that pretty much lasts for days. I generally find that my hair looks better the next day anyway (assuming I'm using a drier, matte styling product of some kind), and the Amity spray only intensifies that effect; with a couple of stacking applications over a few days, I hardly have to use any additional product at all. Seriously; rough estimate, I've reduced my product use by 75%. And the moisturizing ingredients really do keep my hair from looking or feeling crunchy (there's even a subtle/natural shine, in my experience).

I don't really have any suggestions for improvement, other than offering a travel size. Firm recommend!

This texture spray WORKS. I have fine, stick straight hair that used to be ~14 inches long. When I would style it back then, it would hold for maybe 2 hours before falling flat. Now, with this texture spray, my 4in hair holds all day with minimal additional product. Make sure to shake the container before each use and don't over-do it or you'll look greasy. Rinses out with just water.
