Tatara Masamune Safety Razor

The Masamune Razor was the first safety razor Tatara released. Its minimalist design conveys Tatara’s aesthetics of purity, elegance, and simplicity. The Masamune Razor is smooth and efficient. This is due to its small blade gap and negative blade exposure. The closed comb plate is their smoothest option and the most popular. It is designed with small grooves along the edges of the plate giving less blade exposure to the skin.

The unique fitting system of the Masamune razor results in a high perpendicularity between the handle and razor head, for better precision during shaving. A symmetrical load distribution on the threads prevents excessive wear and increasing resistance. It is blade chatter free: the contact area between the cap and base plate effectively clamps the blade, ensuring that it does not vibrate or rattle during the shave, giving the smoothest shave possible. The razors are CNC machined, and are sandblasted to achieve a smooth look, finished by hand, extinguishing machining marks and softening the edges of the razor.
