Built on density rather than light, the essence pushes black pepper and woods to their darkest zones, bordering on almost inflamed material. Incense smoke absorbs light, and establishes a deep, intimate, and sacred presence.

Editor's Notes

Two types of smokiness come together in Gothic Incense, the scent of liturgy and Catholic mass - frankincense that both trails and disperses, filling the atmosphere with its sedative qualities and texture. And then a charred wood note altogether more powerful, rolling through the build of the fragrance. At first it’s possible to catch the salty scent of white lilies, with their honied scent - it is a heady, spicy-and-sweet scent that develops the fragrance’s gothic, and slightly sombre, image. Gothic Incense hovers between the spectral and the concrete, wrapped up in lichen, for a chypre-like finish.
