The story of Я sends our imaginations to the New Years Eve tradition of eating 12 grapes under the table. Memories of celebration, superstition, and retro charm. Its sweet powdery heart charged with fruit, floral, and musk notes is redolent of Sophia Grojsman’s famous accord - which is all at once sparkly, airy, fluffy, iris/violet dominant, and long in its trail, used famously in Tresor (Lancome), Spellbound (Estee Lauder), and Yvresse (YSL). With a generous layering of tropical fruits, ylang-ylang, clove, and carnation, this is especially apparent. With Я, David-Lev demonstrates a classical disposition and an understanding of classical accords and harmony. Я is firm in its construction, rendered in a clear and distinct hierarchical structure that connects bright fruity top notes, with a floral heart and a balsamic base.
